Skotten er tilbake

He's back

So where have you been and what have you been up to since you left Voss Bryggeri?

Since leaving Voss. I spent 5 months working for Sori in Tallinn, but it was not a good fit. I then spent a month travelling around south east Asia before taking the Lead Brewer position at Brew By Numbers in London where I have been since August.

Most Norwegian would think that choosing Florø over London is kind of weird. Why this change from a world metropole of 9 million people to a small town of 9 thousand?

I really like London but the opportunity to be at Kinn – not to mention the skiing, fishing and all the amazing scenery and activities which Vestlandet has to offer – was too good to pass up. Also, I think most Londoners will agree the tube is awful… Though I will definitely come back for events and the occasional beer or two.

And why Kinn?

I’ve always liked Kinn’s beers, their ethos and for the fact they often are controversial for not just throwing a huge amount of new world hops in a beer. Such as making pale ales with English and German hops, brewing bitters and other traditional styles. So, when Espen asked to talk about the role I jumped at it.

What will be your tasks at Kinn?

My new job is as the production manager job. Which will include brewing, working with Espen and the management team to create new beers, continue producing great beer and plan for the future. As well as working with Vesle Kinn.

And when will you start your new position?

I will be starting in early May

Will there be a revolution at Kinn under your supervision?
NEIPA and cookie dough the next from Florø now?

Haha, no. I think there is enough bakeries in western Norway already, but there might be an experiment or two.

Will your tasks be exclusively at the brewery or will we see you at festivals and other happenings around Norway?

My role will mainly be in Florø but I am will be at the occasional festival and around about for festivals and events.

Bergen.
